Professional: Herb has over 20 years of experience in the Personal Protective Equipment industry, serving in senior sales and marketing positions for two leading manufacturers (North Safety and UVEX) and a national distributor (Safety Supply America, now Thermo Fisher). During his years in the safety industry, Herb was active in the Safety Equipment Distributors Association (SEDA), National Industrial Glove Distributors Association (NIGDA) and Industrial Safety Equipment Association (ISEA).

He is a regular contributor to Industrial Safety and Hygiene News (ISHN), writing a column for its For Distributors Only issues.

Herb is a member of California Staffing Professionals (CSP) and the National Safety Council (NSC).

He graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington PA with a BS in Business Administration.

Personal: Herb enjoys playing golf, gardening, skiing, reading and spending time with his family and friends. He is also an excellent cook, earning he moniker "Grill Meister" with family and friends. His latest hobby is baking bread...YUM!J

Professional: Karen's background includes teaching, sales, QA, training and office management. She is a member of California Staffing Professionals (CSP) and the National Safety Council (NSC). Karen has earned the California Accredited Consultant (C.A.C.) designation.

She graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington PA with a BA Elementary Education. Her graduate work was at California State University in California PA where she earned an MA in Guidance and Counseling.

Personal: Karen loves animals, reading, gardening, cooking, entertaining and being with family and friends. She is also very involved in volunteer work with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the Pets Are Wonderful Support program (PAWS ) of the Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). Is it true that after a while, spouses start to look like one another? If so, Herb and Karen must be well on their way, for they have been married for 42 years! They really like working together, and manage to separate work from home quite well.

Their two children, Stacey and Hilary, now reside in Orange County CA and Barrington NH, respectively. Stacey is a Special Education Resource Teacher in Orange County. Her husband, Scott Fitzpatrick, is the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator in the Newport/Mesa school district. He also plays in the band, The Fabulous Nomads. Hilary owns her own company, Niles Media, which provides marketing, public relations, writing, editing and radio production work for clients. She created, writes for and maintains the website www.frontdoorpolitics.com, a weekly legislative update for everyone affected by New Hampshire laws. Her husband, Rick Agran, is a poet, author and university instructor.

The family hosted two American Field Service (AFS) students for a year each, Nick from Italy (1988-89) and Ricardo from Brazil (1991-92). Herb and Karen attended Ricardo and Simone's wedding in Sao Paulo in August of 2006.
